July was a hot one! Very little rain, and days of excessive heat has left the forests near us virtually empty of fungal activities, but our grow container has been nice and cool and still cranking out quality shrooms! The last month was a whirlwind, but we made it through!
Chef Christina Lloyd crafted a Cajun inspired dinner for our monthly mushroom experience dinner! King trumpet scallop po’boy salad with lion’s mane crab cakes, alfredo pasta with blackened lions, and a mushroom dusted banana pudding wow’d all of our guests!
Avery did a few guest reader pop-in sessions for the Indian Ladder Barn School classes through July. In August he’ll be leading a week long mushroom intensive session.
The Guilderland Garden Club held their annual spring meeting in the Indian Ladder Farms Cidery and Brewery followed by a cultivating mushrooms at home workshop with Avery.
Hell Yeah lit, Collar City Mushrooms, and Indian ladder Farms joined forces to produce a Sunday series of diverse musical selections through July that continued into August.
Avery and Amy finally got a chance to enjoy a dinner at Hamlet and Ghost in Saratoga. They have been long time customers for a couple years and sampling chef Alex’s dining selections was a tasty delight!

The Medicinal Mushroom database for the North American Mycological Association is now being beta tested and will be made public in a few months once we work out a few details. We’ll post an article about our process in creating the database and the idea behind launching such an ambitious project.
