Dehydrated Mushrooms

Dehydrated Farm Grown and Wild Foraged mushrooms are an easy way to ensure that you have mushrooms when you need them. Once they are dried and stored in our resealable wax lined packets they will keep for months as long as they are kept dry and cool. Simply rehydrate by boiling some water, putting the mushrooms you intend to use in a bowl, covering them with the water, then covering the bowl with a plate or something similar to keep the heat and moisture in. Once the mushrooms are rehydrated they can be added into whatever dish you are preparing, though they may be a little bit chewier than fresh. (we’ve found that Shiitake rehydrate the best). They can also be crumbled or grated while still dry and added into soup stocks or other “wet” dishes. They can also be used as ingredients for tea (see the Tea description).

Finely Powdered Mushrooms

Powdered Farm Grown and Wild Foraged mushrooms can be mixed into hot or cold beverages, used to include umami in soups, stocks, and sauces, or sprinkled onto oatmeal or salads. The heat of the dehydration process breaks the chitin bonds and allows the nutritional and medicinal compounds to become bioavailable.
